Animals eating tomatoes

What animals are eating my tomatoes and what can I do about it? They prefer ripe ones but also take a bite from half ripe ones but not green ones. I have many squirrels and probably raccoons but I haven’t seen the raccoons for quite some time – but they might be here at night.

I don’t know how to attach a photo.

Raccoons will eat your tomatoes and don’t rule out other nocturnal animals.
Skunks are know to raid gardens also!

You can try picking the tomatoes sooner and ripening them off the plant if that would help save your crop.

Chicken wire and and stakes can make quick fences that may deter critters.

These items are available at most home improvement centers.
