Q.angel trumpet

Anonymous added on November 13, 2014 | Answered

I have an angel trumpet and during the winter I cut it back and place it in a cool dark spot. It has been in the same large pot for 3 years and I would like to change the soil. When is the best time to do this and do I need to prune back the roots? Thank you for your help.

I would recommend repotting in the spring when you bring it back out. This is when it is the most active in growth and will be best able to handle repotting. If you are moving up to a larger pot, then there is no need to root prune. But, if you are staying in the same size pot, you can remove up to 1/3 of the root system at that time.
