Fall is a good time to plant many perennials, vines and trees. However, if you are in the northern hemisphere, it is too late for this year. You may plant in spring when the soil isn’t too wet. Water weekly throughout the growing season. Please buy from a reputable dealer. There has been a lot of DNA mixing between Am. bittersweet and oriental bittersweet. While American bittersweet is vigorous and reaches 20 feet, oriental bittersweet is a monster. You’ll need both male and female plants to produce fruit.
