Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comHi there! I was given an amaryllis bulb for Christmas. I followed the instructions on how to plant it, etc. No blooms yet, but I’ll be patient. But the leaves are crazy…really long and they look like a fountain. Can they be tied up/supported? I’ve had to move some smaller plants because the leaves knock into them. I have it in a western facing window; never had any issues with any plants there. I have a photo if that would help. Thanks for your help.

Usually the blooms come before the leaves. Occasionally, leaves come first, but the flower stems quickly follow. You can move it outside to get its leaves out of the way. Fertilize it and keep it watered and you can try again in the fall. Here is how:
