Q.Am I over-watering or under-watering?

We live in Jacksonville and there’s been no rain the past two weeks. I’ve been taking care of my mom’s garden (I have very little plant knowledge) and she gave me a watering schedule to follow which was watering every other day. She has this 3 year old fig tree/plant(?) that is starting to yellow. I’m not sure but does it look like I’ve been over-watering it or under-watering it? Thank you.

Figs only need water about once a week, so I'd say they are being overwatered. Yellow leaves indicate stress, and it's important to determine what is stressing them. This article should help:
