Aloe Vera- Red Flower Stem Broke

My Aloe Vera Plant Has A 2.5ft Red Flower Stem. It Broke Off. What should I do with the stem in the pot? Cut it down to the aloe leaf? Or cut it to 4 inches tall?

Either is fine. I would go ahead and remove it, completely.
