Aloe plant

My aloe plant started to change colors at the base. It’s a sort of reddish brown color. Is this bad?

Leaves that are brown, limp or mushy are overwatered.
Water you plant sparingly.
Allow the soil to dry. Your plant may not recover from root rot.
