All my plants that i potted recently are dying or dead.

I used a good grade soil but i am beginning to think that is the problem, all of the plants were planted with this soil. I put most in pots, which are large enough to accommodate a one gallon plant while it grows. Two say drought resistant, when est. What does that mean exactly. Water how often? I put 3 types of berry plants together all have died my blueberry bush leaves all fell off and left me green sticks and my strawberries leaves burned. It says full sun, but i think not for inland empire area, i think it needs part shade. I hope to get advice on what plants are good for very large pots that are in sun anywhere from 90 to 110 during the summer, and 30s in the winter.

The blueberry died because of the soil, for certain. These require ammonium sulfate fertilizer, where most contain ammonium nitrate. Without knowing the specific fertilizer, I can only assume that it contains urea based nitrogen, as well as being slow release.

Have caution, as many low grade soils parade around in sheep’s clothing of Brand Names. Can you tell me a little about the soil?

Drought resistant plants are going to be just that- Drought resistant. They will only want to be watered when the soil dries out almost completely. These will be “desert” type plants.

As for the other fruits. They only need to be watered when the top two inches of soil are dry. Plenty of drainage is needed in container, as the water needs to run out, and never be left to sit.

If you can upload some photos, then it can better help me to see the situation.

About the strawberries… When temps get into the 90’s, it will be time to move them into a shady location. They are a bit sensitive to the hotter temperatures.
