They will survive, but not likely very happily. They would rather be planted in ground, unless this is a large container. They will be fully hardy in your area, though.

I know I have to plant it in the ground but it's January and what I need to know is whether I can put the pot out on the porch until spring? What temperatures can it stand in a pot outside, please?
