Q.Agapanthus Not Blooming

Anonymous added on April 5, 2011 | Answered

I pulled up a bunch of overgrown Agapanthus about three years ago when we moved into an older home. They have started to come back over the past year, but none have bloomed. Would you have any idea why?

They are getting too much nitrogen. This happens when there are more roots than foliage, which is common in the situation you described. Add some phosphorus to the soil to balance the nutrients. You may also want to consider root pruning the plants.
