Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI lifted my evergreen agapanthus last week to split it as it is too big for the space,we didnt have the spade to cut through it so my friend said it would be fine just sitting on the soil in a crater with some roots uncovered. Is this ok or should I bury or cover the roots? we won’t be able to split it till the w’end?
Would you be able to advise me
Thank You Joan Fegley

It is best to keep the roots covered with some damp newspaper or towels until planting. Also, keep the plants in the shade while they’re out of the ground.
