crepe myrtles turning color after a long hot spell

Question

Some of the leaves on the crepe myrtles are turning yellow and red, then dying. I have started drip watering the trees. No sign of fungus or aphids, lots of sunshine.

This could simply be stress from possible heat. Giving them a dose of water as you have is a great start. They should be fine unless you notice any other symptoms.
