After 11 Years (except A Barren 2019) Of Producing Red Roses My Standard Rose Bush Has Produced White Roses

In 2009 my son gave me a standard red rose bush as a Ruby wedding gift. Every year since then, except last year, 2019, the bush has continued to produce red roses. Last year it did not produce any buds so I cut it back more than usual. This year it has grown well and in mid May produced WHITE roses. This is probably not relevant but my neighbour has a white rose bush and the bushes are only about 2 FT apart with a fence in between. There are no visible suckers on my side of the fence. Can you please explain how this transformation may have occurred. Thank you.

It's likely the rose bush below the graft took over and is now producing its original color roses. The top part, that produced the red roses, has probably died. Here is more:
