Q.African violets

Zone Muscatine, IA 52761 | gentleenergy added on May 27, 2017 | Answered

I have had one plant for a very long time. It has just started producing flowers in the past 5 years. I just noticed a strange thing on one of the flowers. It is like a bulb or something. It is sitting right on top of the center of the flower cluster. It almost reminds me of the same type of thing that grows on a fuscia plant. Those look almost like a bud, but turns into a dark purple hard thing. This thing on the violet flower is still green and firm. Any idea of what it may be?
