Q.Adding Peat Moss, Perlite And Manure To My Garden: What Order Do I Add Them In?
I have a second year garden that needs more soil added as it compacted a few inches since last year. While adding new soil, I’d like to also add peat moss, perlite, manure and lime to the garden before the new soil….I have about a 7″ base of good soil from last year. What order should I add those items in…does it matter? Should i finish with a top layer of new fresh garden soil to get it back up to 11-12″ high?

You may want to have your soil tested before adding lime to your soil. Make certain you have composted manure. I'm wondering if you need the perlite in addition to peat moss. You may want to add compost instead. It may not matter in what order you add them, so long as they are dug in well.
