Q.Abundant 2nd Crop Of Figs That Don’t Get Bigger Than A Large Grape?

I have a fig tree, in very poor chalk soil, in a very sunny, south west facing spot, plated on a slope but still produces a lot of figs. the first crop finishes, and then in late summer, we get a huge amount of new figs crowing but they dont get big, just stay small and green. what can I do?

After testing the soil, it sounds like it needs a little fertilizer. Once you find out, exactly, what is missing or lacking, then you can correct the issue. Adding compost to the area will help, as well as adding earthworms. They will incorporate the compost in, and around the tree. Here are some articles that will help:
