about tree bark

I work at a preschool. We let the children play with shaving creme (cheap generic brand). One of my tactile activities involves applying shaving cream to tree trunks. Does this harm the tree in any way? Thank you.

It should not be an problem, just wash it off and wash it away from the tree roots system.
