plant. It is planted in nearly full sun, with a short period afternoon shade. I wonder if I have watered it too frequently, trying to hasten growth. It has grown, approximately doubled in size since being planted. This bush is one of three; the other two are healthy, with few, if any, yellow leaves.

Part shade is fine for Ligustrum but overwatering can cause leaves to yellow and drop. Also check for any pests on that shrub. These articles should help:
