Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comA couple of our older azaleas have blossoms, but there is a sticky substance on the brown outside of the blossom and also inside the blossom. When we pull the outer brown part of the blossom, it is sticky. Also, when we open the blossom, it is sticky inside.

Deadheading azaleas can be a sticky proposition – azaleas have a sticky fluid inside of their stems. So this is completely normal.
