Q.pieris plant

Anonymous added on February 16, 2017 | Answered

It has been very cold overnight, and my small pieris plant is dropping all its leaves like a rhododendron. Is this normal? Thanks.

Do you have a photo of the plant? How cold did it get? Pieris japonica is generally cold tolerant if sufficiently mulched. The upper foliage may suffer a bit in a severe frost, but it would still be alive.
