White dust on gardenias

I have a number of Gardenias in containers all doing well, only the odd yellow leaf from time to time but no problem. However, I have recently noticed what seems like a grey white dust on the leaves of one of my gardenia plants, possibly tiny mites, having reduced eyesight I cannot see for sure if they are tiny insects. If they are, what do you recommend to kill them? Thank you.

This sounds like powdery mildew. Here is more information: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/disease/get-the-cure-for-powdery-mildew.htm [1]
