Q.low maintenance plants

Zone East Midlands | alexander.spokes added on September 11, 2012 | Answered

I live in a park home backed by farmland. At the bottom of my garden is a dyke and the ground beyond is available for my use. It has lots of trees and I wish to brighten it up with perennial flowering evergreens. The trouble is the ground is like concrete and trying to dig into results in great big lumps of clay. Any suggestions of the type of low maintenance plants, please. I am less than an amateur gardener.
