Butterfly bush

I live in Washington state. I have a Butterfly bush. It looks healthy, very tall but it didn’t bloom very long. Would they be short bloomers by nature, or does it lack something in the soil? Thanks for your help.

It coud be lacking phosphorus, which is necessary for healthy blooms. You can use a phosphorus rich fertilizer or add bone meal to the soil around your bush.
