6 year old yucca plant in garden

We are having our front garden landscaped and my yucca is staying put. I have just noticed that there is a bad scrape on the trunk, should I put anything on it to protect the trunk. Wendy.l

Most cuts or wounds will heal on their own and covering them is not recommended.
