Flag iris, daylily, hosta, hardy geranium and bee balm will grow in your area and can take just about any abuse you can throw at them – over and under watering included. Plus, they are all wonderful looking plants.
If you are having a problem with “overwatering”, it is actually more likely you have a problem with clay soil – which is very likely where you are located. In other words, the problem is not with you, but your soil. You may want to look into improving your soil. This article will help:
