Q.Woody Sage

Hazel added on July 13, 2011 | Answered

I have a woody (breaks easily) sage with tiny red flowers. It has grown very large and needs to be cut back. What is it, and how do I care for it?

There are tons of red salivia, sage so it is hard to tell which cultivar this could be. I cut my sage way back about two weeks ago and it has come back with a vengence. I live in Texas and things grow very fast here. Sage are forgiving and probably the cutting back will give you a flush of new blooms.
