Wisteria Vines

Wisteria

justadrop added on July 5, 2011 | Answered

I recently moved to a new house. In the garden is a tall wisteria. The top half is bare of leaves and the crown looks dead. I don't know what to do with it. Peter.

Check and see if it is truly dead. This article will help with that:
https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/plant-problems/environmental/how-to-tell-if-a-plant-is-dead-and-how-to-recover-an-almost-dead-plant.htm

If it is dead, you can trim away anything that is dead. There are many things that could have killed the upper part of the plant. As a precaution, I would treat the plant with neem oil. This will kill 90% of what may have been harming the plant but is safe for people and pets.
