How Do I Fix a Crepe Myrtle With a Split Branch?

A heavy snow last night caused one of the limbs on my crepe myrtle to split at the “Y. ” As a temporary fix, I taped it together. Is there a way to fix this problem so I don’t lose the branch?

It will be iffy in cold weather to get the repair to take, but your best bet would be to bolt the limb back into place. This article has direction on how to do that:
