How fast do lilacs grow? I just planted a seedling about 6 inches tall. When will it flower?
It can take three to four years for a lilac to get fully established. The blooms for the NEXT year develop on THIS year's wood, so it probably will not flower this year.

I have four 9-ft lilac trees planted about 4 ft away from my foundation. I recently noticed that my one basement wall has a crack in it and leaks water when it rains. Could the lilacs be causing this problem?

I have a lilac bush that is about 4-5 years old. For the past 3 years, the flowers have been a light purple color. This year the flowers are white. The bush is healthy and growing fast. I've never seen a lilac change colors. Why did this happen? The color is not a problem, I'm just confused.
Optimizing the growing conditions and the health of the Lilac shrub will help in keeping bright, vibrant colored blooms.
Also dead heading the spent flowers will help.
It is also possible that you have a grafted Lilac. The bush may have reverted to the root stock, which is likely a different variety of Lilac.

Are there any lilac varieties that will bloom well in partial shade? Our yard, unfortunately, has no full sun areas. But we love lilacs! Thank you Amber
A Dwarf Korean Lilac can grow in full sun or partial shade.
I myself grow one in partial shade and it's growth has been very good with lots of flowers.
I would recommend this shrub.

I asked my Mom for seeds from her lilac bush. Instead of waiting till the fall or late summer, she cut some flowers and brought to my house, sure that they'd produce seeds. My first thought was, 'what came first, the chicken or the egg? These flowers are not going to produce seeds.' I've never been into gardening but as lilacs remind me of my Granny, I want some. Am I just wasting my time saving a dying plat for nothing?
You'll get seeds from the flower buds but only after the flowers have died. Oftentimes the plants from the seeds don't grow into the same type of lilac as the parent bush if the parent is a hybrid. You could try growing a lilac from cuttings, too, but Lilac cuttings are one of the trickiest types of cuttings to keep alive, and there's a very specific way that it has to be done.

When it 1st started to spread, it looked like some nice ground cover so I let it go for several years. Well, it got into the lilac and spread around in the bushes (tree/woods area scattered and now it's going wild) and hard to kill even with multiple doses of herbicide. It's spreading by maybe deer or mowing into the middle of my yard and random places, not sure how. What is it? How to kill it completely even near a creek?
It is wild bishop's weed. Here are some articles that will give you ideas on how to remove:

I have lilacs in different areas on my property gardens. None of them ever bloom. Any ideas why?
Believe it or not, if the lilacs on your property are very old, that could be the simple reason they're not blooming. If that's the case, it's easily fixed. This article will tell you how, as well as give you some other reasons why lilacs don't bloom: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/shrubs/lilac/lilac-bush-not-blooming.htm
