My lemon tree that I started from seed is looking a little tall and spindly. Can I cut the top to achieve a more compact looking tree, or will pruning the new growth hurt the tree?
Yes, you can prune the top stem.
You want to prune so you have many short branches, instead of a few long ones.
Use clean tools to cut the stems. Prune the stems making a cut about 1/4" above a branch union.

I have a container lemon tree that has black spots on the underside of the leaves and the leaves have a "withered" look.
I would check your lemon tree for citrus thrips - black spots on the underside of leaves are typically a hallmark of thrips.

My lemon tree we placed outside in a container had purplish pink flowers on it. They have now fallen off and no lemons. The tree is approximately 4-5 feet tall and 2 years old. It has never bore fruit. Please help. Did someone sell me the wrong plant?
Depending on the variety and the root stock it can take 3 to 5 years for a Lemon Tree to produce fruit.

How to make my lemon tree bear more fruit?
When we lived in Spain, my father had really laden citrus trees
He said that they're greedy hungry plants. If you feed them and water consistently, then they return the favour big time with fruit
A radio station in Sydney Australia called 2GB has a fantastic gardening program called "The Garden Clinic" run by Mr Graham Ross. They often discuss Citrus plants
Hope this helps

I bought a lemon tree in a 10 in pot. Very healthy tree. It is outside in full sun until late afternoon then trees filter it. It has tiny lemons and more blooms but fruit is turning yellow then black and falling off. What did I do wrong?
