My knockout rose leaves are turning yellow and falling off. What do I do?
If it has been real hot where you are at, it is normal for the rosebushes to drop lots of leaves. It is an effort by them to get more air flowing through the rosebushes to help keep them cooler. If it has been real wet where you are, it could be too much water and the water is choking the oxygen out of the soils around the rosebushes. Once things dry up a bit they should improve in such a case. Here are a couple links to a couple articles I wrote on this subject. Please check them out and hopefully they will help you as well:

These areas are not on the leaf but in it.
I am not sure what you mean by discolored. However, it could be that the leaves are just turning towards yellow as they are soon to fall off. It could also be a fungus that is working on them. Here are a couple links to articles that you may find useful:

The bottom of the plants are bare with just stems. All the leaves turned brown and yellow and fell off. Is this a fungus?
It couuld be a fungus but could also be the bush just going through a natural system of trying to keep itself cool in very hot weather. Not sure what your weather has been like but such actions can directly relate to climatic happenings where you live. Here are some articles that you should take a look at for some further good information:

Should I continue to feed my knockout roses over winter months?
No you do not want to feed the rosebushes over the winter months as they need the dormant time to rest up. Also if you are in a cold climate like I am, you do not want the rosebushes to be actively trying to grow when it gets real cold. It can kill them. I give my rosebushes a couple of tablespoons of superphosphate about now and mix it into the soils well. Then lightly water it in. It moves slowly through the soils and will give the root system something to feed on and keep strong over the winter, without promoting the upper growth. Hi bluelily,
I planted my first two knockout roses last spring and they are great! Good luck with yours though you won't need it. They're very easy. I fertilized my two bushes every 4-6 wks over the summer. I'll continue to feed them up to,
but before, the first frost. Then I'll quit feeding until spring. Hope this helps.
Have a great day! -Stargazer
First freeze has hit; still have blooms. . . do I prune my knockouts now or in spring? How much do I prune them? Can I control height and shape of bushes? Anything else to do for knockouts?
Here are some links to articles for you on this subject:

You certainly can prune them to control their shape and size and they will bloom nicely all the same. If you have any further questions feel free to ask them either here or by sending an email in from one of the link sites above.
We have several Knock Out roses. They have some new growth but the old growth has yellowing leaves with black spots on them. What is this and is it a common problem? What should we do to remedy and keep it from reoccurring? Thank you!

Last year for the first time and now again this year, but worse, my Knockout rose bushes green and form buds beautifully only to have the leaves turn brown and almost transparent just before the blooms open. Last year they recovered to the point of looking decent over the summer and even bloomed but this year they look horrible! No research I have conducted even remotely describes this problem. I have pictures if needed. Help! Barb
I would recommend getting some fertilizer with a systemic insecticide in it and feeding your roses with that a couple of times about a month apart. Then switch over to a regular non-systemic rose food for the rest of the feedings. It sounds like you have either an insect or perhaps a rose slug problem when you say the foliage turns brown and nearly transparent.

there is a very, very small avid that may be eating the buds from the inside out.You might try seeweed and molases mixture. spray on plant.Plant absorbes the mixture and sends it throu out the plant therefore pumping it into the buds. good luck
