Two-year old plants are nice and green, but now some of the leaves have started to turn yellowish. High pH?
There are many things that could be causing the yellow leaves. I would try a fertilizer first and also make sure that they are getting enough water and that there is not any damage to the roots that would be preventing them from taking up water.

I planted 3 blueberry bushes this spring. Two are doing fine, but the third one is turning brown. Looks like it has some kind of disease or rust. Would like to try and save it as I have 3 different varieties.

When is best time to fertilize one year old Crepe Myrtles and Blueberries? Planted several Crepe Myrtles, all three sizes (miniature, medium size and larger trees) last year 2010. I need to know how often to water, fertilize and purne them. Also planted blueberries last year. I need to know the same information on pruning, fertilizing and watering. Thank you for taking time to answer my questions. Bill

I have had two blueberry plants for 3 years now. Just one produces about 20 berries each year. That's it. Basically the same thing with the hazel nuts. The rest of the garden does well.
Check the ph of your soil. Both are acid lovers and you're soil may be to alkaline for good fruit and nut production.
I used Hollyberry fertilizer for my blueberry bushes last fall (first season). Nice growth, some berries this summer, but now the leaves have turned red. What do they need?
Since there are many reasons for this and I cannot see for myself, here is a site that you may find helpful: http://www.fruit.cornell.edu/berrytool/blueberry/leaves/BBphos.htm
We have a few blueberry bushes and this year some are growing, then they dry up and drop. Do you know why this is?

I recently bought a house with several blueberry bushes that are at least 8 ft. tall. They are so tall, in fact, that I would like to cut them back but not sure if I can. I live in Ga. and the winter is coming. What should I do to these plants so as not to have them die? We really love the blueberries they have.
