What kind of fertilizer do I use to make them bloom? And when do I use it and how often? My bulbs are planted in the ground. They have bloomed once since I transplanted them 15 years ago. We don't have good soil, it's more like clay. Thank you, Melinda Bickham

My Christmas Amaryllis gave me 6 gorgeous flowers, one of which is still in bloom. My daughter removed the others after they died, but now those stalks seem to have additional bulbs on them at the top - is this possible? They are 1/2 to 1 inch around and look like they are going to bloom again...we have had the plant in and out the stalk portion is close to 3 feet tall on each; this is all in a 8-10 inch round container it came in - ceramic. We water when the plant is dry and bring indoors at night, as it is still quite cool even though we are in sunny California. What should we do next?
Your Amaryllis has formed seed pods.
It takes 3 to 5 weeks for the seed pod to dry and will split open and the black seeds will be visible.
The seeds can be planted in the fall or saved for next spring.

After the blooms die, should I pick them or leave them on the stalk?
You can trim away the faded flower.

I didn't have a place or way to have the amaryllis outside. The three amaryllis bloomed well in December and since have had very beautifully green and thick leaves with no browning or yellowing. I have them in their original pots and soil in an east window. I was unable to do the outdoor method of regeneration. How can I get them to begin their transition as a totally indoor plant?

Can it survive frost and snow? I lived in CA where I grew Amaryllis beautifully. Now I live in Oklahoma where the winters are cold, frost, snow. I have found they do better planted in ground rather than pot, here in the summer I planted them, now I am afraid they will die in winter. Please help
Amaryllis will not winter over in ground in your current OK location. They cannot tolerate temperatures below 55 degrees F.

I live in S. Florida and have several amaryllis plants. They all have bloomed before, but haven't the last two years. How do I get them to bloom? They are all very healthy - the leaves grow great, but no flowers!
Excessive nitrogen fertilization is the most common reason for a plant to have abundant leaves but no flowers. This article will help you:

This year my hippeastrums have not flowered. They get quite a bit of shade but every other year they have flowered.
As a bulb plant, hippeastrums can skip a year of flowering if they were unable to store up enough energy the year before or if stress caused them to spend too much energy. They will probably flower again next year. Also check this article to see if it may have any of these issues:
