Q.Moving a Hibiscus Plant

I have a hibiscus plant I want to move to a different location. It is just now getting new growth for the season, so I’m thinking it is still okay to do it. It seems to have a huge root system. Will it hurt the plant if the roots get cut while I am digging it up? Any suggestions on how to move it?

Any established plant is subject to transplant shock when moved, largely due to root loss. This article wil lhelp:
