Q.Boston Fern Issue

Anonymous added on October 25, 2011 | Answered

I’ve been given a large fern that has been neglected, which means that the ends of the fronds are brown. Should I cut it all the way back to re-start all new growth?

It needs more humidity. Either mist it regularly or set it on a pebble tray with water in it to raise the humidity around it. You can cut out the brown fronds. For additional pruning, this article will help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/boston-fern/trimming-boston-ferns.htm
