Q.Rootless Gardenia Will It Die?

Can gardenia plants survive even without roots? I planted 1 gardenia in my garden but I just cut it in the garden of neighbor? What will I do to Keep it alive? pls. help me because I really love gardenia plants. Thank you.

You will not be able to make the whole plant regrow its root. They just would not have the energy for it. But, you can try taking the plant and using it for cuttings to make new gardenia plants for your yard. This article will help:
