I just transplanted several daylilies to the back of my yard. Do I need to cut the tops off to help them grow? My neighbor keeps telling me to cut them but I’m afraid it will hurt them.

I would not cut the Day Lily's back now. Keep the newly transplanted plants watered in the first few weeks to ensure they become established and to reduce stress.
